Orange County, CA Sheriff Appeals Order To Reduce Jail Population By Half

OK, on Dec 22nd I blogged about some goofy judge ordering the Sheriff to half his jail population. The judge is petey wilson, 657-622-5302, he asked me to have EVERYONE give him a call and voice your opinion…please do so. This in response to a lawsuit filled by the aclu.

The Sheriff, Don Barnes along with the support of the Prosecuting Attorney and a number of the cities in Orange County are pushing back.

Due to the extreme risk to citizens if violent felons are released the Sheriff filed an Amicus brief. Yeah, I didn’t have any idea what it is either…so I looked it up. It’s a request to have an impartial party look at the issue and offer an opinion.

In this case the Sheriff feels that releasing a bunch of violent offenders outweighs the Covid risk to the inmates. The first and only duty of the Sheriff and Prosecutor is to keep the citizens safe. If these goofs had followed the law they wouldn’t be locked up…So There!!

The Hits Just Keep On Commin’…CA Sheriff Ordered To Release Half Of Jail Inmates

A judge in Orange County, CA ordered the Sheriff to release half the inmates from the jail. In a suit filed by the aclu they claimed that the knuckleheads can’t social distance. The Sheriff and Prosecutor fought, but in vain. The judge ruled that these violent folks be turned lose on the citizenry post haste.

The Sheriff has already reduced the jail population by over 1300 inmates. These were mostly low level offenders and pre-trial detainees. Now that the low level creeps have already been released that leaves the only option to release inmates in for stuff like, you know, murder, armed robbery and sexual assault. What the hell are they thinking?

The Sheriff, Don Barnes said, “The public should be in a panic and concerned about this release.” Who can argue with that.

Gonna Brag About Former STLCOPD Cop And Chief Pilot

Jerry Hawkins, former County cop, helicopter pilot and all around good egg was recently honored with a Resolution from the St. Louis County Council.

It all started a while back when Jerry was honored with the FAA designation of Master Pilot for having flown over 6900 hours, mostly rotary wing time, without any accidents or violations. These are not given out willie, nillie. Only about fifty of these awards have been given out over the past 5 years.

Upon hearing of the FAA award former COPD Lt. Denny Robertson and Chief Gil Kleinknecht made it their missiopn to see that Jerry was apptly recognized by the County Council. The former cops contaced County Councilman Tim Fitch, also a former Chief of the COPD.

After a few seconds of deliberation Tim said…”Hell yeah.” The measure was quickly drafted and passed unanimously by the full Council with a bunch of “Whereas”& “There Fore’s” scattered throughout the document.

As a street cop and detective I can attest to the help and assistance given by Jerry and other members of the unit.

A little know factoid is that Jerry was instrumental in assisting in the caspture of one of the FBI’s top 10.

Well deserved award for a guy that earned it through dedication, tenacity and resolve to insure that street cops and specialized units could count on the air support unit of the County Police.

The Craziness In CA Continues… 2 Of Officer’s 6 Shots Ruled Unjustified

Thought maybe the nut balls in CA took a break from all the loony decisions they make. Guess not.

An LAPD Officer killed a goof who was charging her with a large edged weapon. She did as she was trained…double tap, access, double tap. Repeat as need to stop the threat. Mission accomplished. This was after the Officer told the meth amped fool to stop. Another case of de-escalation non compliance.

Sounds like a good shoot. Not so fast. The LA police commission, after much chin rubbing, butt scratching and thoughtful repose came up with the absolutely brilliant conclusion that the Officer’s first 4 shots were legit…the last 2 were not. HUH?

One must wonder how many gunfights and knowledge of the criminal mind these commission members possess. Probably not much.

Mobile, AL Sheriff Thug Tree Update

You may recall “Cops Perspective” post dated 12/7/20 where the Mobile, AL Sheriff placed a Christmas tree in the lobby. The tree was adorned with mug shots of locked up and wanted felons.

As one might expect the “Faux, Ever Offended’ crowd made a bunch of racket about the Thugs. They demanded that the tree be removed and how those Thugs may have been wrongly accused. How they may have “transgressed” on their way to becoming good citizens. How demeaning it is to the inmate and their families…blah, blah.

Well here’s a news bulletin for ya. With those people being secured from society makes a safer community. The residence don’t have to worry about their homes and businesses being burglarized, held up…or worse.

In response the Sheriff put a new tree…with a new batch of Thugs! The response on the Sheriff’s website has been overwhlelmingly positive. Actually I and those on “Cops Perspective” think the same. Carry on Sheriff.

Special Ed. Teacher On Zoom Call With Student Attacked…Pity The Home Invader.

In Cleveland last week a Special Ed. Teacher was on zoom call with one of her students. She heard a racket downstairs and discovered a man, covered in blood, had broken into her home.

He detained her in the upstairs portion of the house. The parents of the student called 911 and gave as much info as they could.

The goof then demanded her keys and let her go downstairs to get the keys. Whilst downstairs she let her dogs loose. One a German Sheppard, the other a Great Dane/Bulldog mix. The dogs used his various appendages for a chew bone. He ran out of the house chased by the teacher.

A construction crew in the neighborhood intervened and detained the beaten and further bloodied felon until the constabulary arrived. Bet he was glad to see the cops.

Turns out this guy was recently released from prison where he served time for aggravated assault. Looks like he’ll be headed back to the can…where he belongs.

Convicted For Murder, Hired By The DC Attorney General For “Cure The Streets” Project…Arrested For New Murder offense

Damn, you just can’t make this foolishness up. A convicted felon (Murder) hired for the “Cure The Streets” project arrested, once again for…that’s right, Murder!

After serving 10 years coty wynn was released from the joint. He was then hired for another worthless project. He made a lotta contacts with the mayor and the DCAG.

He was supposed to work the streets overseeing outreach and violence interrupters. (there’s that word again) The people he was supposed to be helping said all he did was brag about how he beat a bunch a cases…yeah, that’ll help these folks.

He was popped last week for a new murder. He can add that to his list of convictions including, sale/possession of crack, 1st degree murder and sale of a controlled substance. Having this guy work the streets sure makes me feel safer.

When will these goofs ever learn. This guy should have been locked up. Now that’s a “Violence Interrupter.”

Mobile, AL Sheriff’s Office Puts “Thug Tree” in Lobby

The Sheriff’s Office in Mobile put a tree in their lobby. Not just any tree, but a “Thug Tree.” It’s adorned with a bunch of mugshots of wanted/fugitive felons. It’s topped off with a pair of orange jail flip-flops.

The Sheriff invites everybody on the tree to turn themselves in. If they do they’ll get fitted for a new suit and matching shoes. Also provided, free meals and a place to lay their weary heads.

Pretty cool, I though. 2 bad guys turned themselves in and are now a guest of the county.

Of course, members of the “ever offended” crowd got their panties in an uproar and demanded the tree be removed. Kinda funny since the comments on their website are running about 9-1 in favor.

Great idea and a way to get felons off the streets. Bon Appetite.

Stockton, CA Elects Mayor Who Wants To Add Cops, Stop Defunding Efforts

The voters in Stockton, CA last month elected a mayor who wants to add cops to the department and stop the defunding of the School District Cops. The voters made it clear, by a 60% margin, that they wanted safe streets and a safe community….Enough with the defunding BS.

The new Mayor, a Marine vet, said he talked with a number of community groups and they made it clear. Everyone wants to feel safe in their homes and businesses.

Pretty simple really, especially since Stockton is ranked as one of the most dangerous cities in the nation. A check of the PD’s Facebook page indicates they are a busy department.

The new Mayor is described as being African-American and Mexican -American…don’t we have too many hyphenated identifiers before American?

Goof Attacks Ex-Girlfriend…Gets Biffed By Mother And Sister

Here’s one that should make you feel all warm and fuzzy.

Some idiot got a snoot full and went to his ex squeezes house in South Pasadena, CA. He barged in and viciously attacked his estranged honey-bunny. The victim’s mother and sister would have none of this creeps foolishness.

They both grabbed a defensive weapon. A pair of scissors for the mother and a golf club (gonna guess a nine iron) for the sister. They then went to work on the unwelcome intruder. The end result being one 10-7 bad guy and 2 family members that saved their daughter/sister.

The investigation into the matter is being conducted by the LA County Sheriff’s Department. Looks like an easy homicide to clear.
