BALTIMORE PD…”ADMIN SHORTCOMINGS.”

chief davisWITH THE NOT GUILTY VERDICT OF BPD OFFICER ED NERO AND THE SCOLDING THE JUDGE GAVE THE PROSECUTION ABOUT OFFICERS NOT BEING AWARE OF THE REQUIREMENT TO BUCKLE PRISONERS INTO THE BACK OF THE TRANSPORT WAGON, THE BPD CHIEF SAID THIS CALLS FOR MORE TRAINING.

WELL, DUH, YEAH, MORE TRAINING.  YOU KNOW LIKE YOU MUST BUCKLE PRISONERS BEING TRANSPORTED.  IN ESSENCE THE CHIEF IS SAYING THAT THE BPD OFFICERS DID NOT KNOW OF THE GENERAL ORDER.  THIS IS NOT UNUSUAL FOR LARGE DEPARTMENT TO ISSUE GENERAL AND SPECIAL ORDERS TO OFFICERS AND THEN NOT FOLLOW UP WITH IN SERVICE TRAINING.

BPD PLANS TO IMPLEMENT NEW SOFTWARE THAT WILL REQUIRE OFFICERS TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THEY HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND THE POLICY.

A BIT LATE, I’D SAY.  THIS ADDRESSES THE ISSUE OF OFFICES CAESAR GOODSON’S TRIAL.  UP NEXT IN MS. MOSBY’S KANGAROO OPERATION.  THE OFFICER WAS THE VAN DRIVER THAT DAY AND, ACCORDING TO MOSBY AND OTHERS, WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR SECURING THE PRISONER.

WITH THE BPD’S ADMISSION THAT THEIR GENERAL AND SPECIAL ORDERS ARE NOT KNOWN TO ALL OFFICERS, GIVES OFFICER GOODSON AN EXCELLENT BASIS FOR HIS DEFENSE.  HOW CAN HE FOLLOW A POLICY HE HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF?

LET’S PUT THIS SILLY ROAD SHOW TO BED BY DISMISSING ALL THESE BOGUS CHARGES AGAINST THESE FINE OFFICERS.  WE’LL SEE WHAT HAPPENS TO MS. MOSBY IF SHE FAILS TO GAIN ANY CONVICTIONS…THE WAY IT’S SHAPING UP SHE JUST MAY NOT.  WONDER WHO SHE’LL BLAME??  …..”HEAL THYSELF.”

STAY SAFE, BUCKLE UP AND WEAR YOUR VEST!!
