BALTIMORE POLICE OFFICER ED NERO FOUND NOT GUILTY

neroLAST SPRING THE BALTIMORE STATE’S ATTORNEY OVERCHARGED SIX BALTIMORE POLICE OFFICERS IN THE DEATH OF FREDDY GRAY.

THE FIRST OFFICER TRIED, WILLIAM PORTER, RESULTED IN A HUNG JURY WITH ELEVEN JURORS VOTING FOR ACQUITTAL.  THE SECOND OFFICER, ED NERO, WAS FOUND NOT GUILTY AFTER A BENCH TRIAL.

THE PROSECUTION TRIED TO TELL JUDGE BARRY WILLIAMS THAT NERO SHOULD BE FOUND GUILTY OF ASSAULT FOR TOUCHING GRAY.  NEVER MIND THAT THE OFFICER WAS SEARCHING FOR AN INHALER BECAUSE GRAY SAID HE COULDN’T CATCH HIS BREATH.  ADDITIONALLY, THE PROSECUTION QUESTIONED NERO IF HE REQUESTED MORE INFORMATION WHEN THE CALL FOR ASSISTANCE WENT OUT THAT FATEFUL DAY APRIL, 12, 2015.  ANY POLICE OFFICER AND I MEAN ANY POLICE OFFICER WHO HEARS THAT SOMEONE NEEDS HELP WILL IMMEDIATELY DROP WHAT THEY ARE DOING AND PROCEED VIA THE QUICKEST ROUTE TO THE SOURCE OF THE REQUEST.  WHAT A STUPID QUESTION!!

MARILYN MOSBY, THE BALTIMORE STATES ATTY CHARGED THE SIX OFFICERS AFTER A HASTY AND SLOPPY INVESTIGATION.  SHE MUST NOW LIVE WITH HER IMPROPER AND, QUITE POSSIBLY, CRIMINAL ACTION IN THIS MATTER.

THE MAYOR, YOU MAY REMEMBER HER…”FOR THOSE THAT WANTED TO DESTROY, WE WANTED TO GIVE THEM ROOM…”  SHE LATER DENIED SAYING THAT BUT WAS REBUFFED WITH THE NEWS FOOTAGE. ASKED FOR CALM AND RESPECT FOR THE JUDICIAL SYSTEM.  WONDER WHERE SHE WAS WHEN THE CITY WAS BEING TORN APART?

UP NEXT, OFFICER CESAR GOODSON JR.,  THE VAN DRIVER WHO WAS WORKING ON HIS DAY OFF SERVING THE CITIZENS OF BALTIMORE
