DOJ WANTS POLICE DEPARTMENTS TO HIRE UN-QUALIFIED APPLICANTS

HERE WE GO AGAIN.  THE doj AND SOME OTHER FEDERAL AGENCY WITH A BUNCH OF LETTERS WANTS LOCAL AND STATE POLICE DEPARTMENTS TO HIRE UNQUALIFIED APPLICANTS IN THE NAME OF DIVERSITY.flag

IN IT’S REPORT THE doj SAYS..” THE USE OF CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS IS LIKELY TO DISPROPORTIONATELY IMPACT RACIAL MINORITY APPLICANTS.”  OK, ARE THEY SAYING NOT TO DO A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK ON POTENTIAL POLICE OFFICERS.  THOSE MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY THAT ARE ENFORCING THE LAWS OF THE LAND AND MAY, AT SOME POINT, BE REQUIRED TO TAKE A LIFE.

THE REPORT CONTINUES, ..” U.S. CITIZENSHIP REQUIREMENTS MAY PREVENT A CONSIDERABLE NUMBER OF RACIAL AND ETHNIC MINORITIES FROM BEING HIRED BY LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES.”

THE REPORT RAMBLES ON WITHOUT MAKING A LOT OF SENSE, BUT THEN, WHAT COULD ONE EXPECT FROM AN UNINFORMED JUSTICE DEPARTMENT.

POLICE OFFICERS ARE AND MUST CONTINUE TO BE THE BEST AMERICA HAS TO OFFER.  BACKGROUND CHECKS AND CITIZENSHIP ARE REQUIREMENTS THAT MUST BE HELD.  DESPITE THE PRESSURE THAT WILL BE PLACED ON AGENCIES TO NOT COMPLETE A FULL AND THROUGH BACKGROUND CHECK FOR ALL APPLICANTS.

HIRING A DRUG ABUSER OR A CRIMINAL TO ENFORCE OUR LAWS IS NOT ONLY PREPOSTEROUS ON IT’S FACE IT COULD AND WILL LEAD TO SERIOUS VIOLATIONS OF PUBLIC POLICY AND A FURTHER EROSION OF POLICE COMMUNITY RELATIONS.

WHAT ARE THESE PEOPLE THINKING?

STAY SAFE, BUCKLE UP AND WEAR YOUR VEST!!
