LEGISLATION PROPOSED TO MAKE CHARGING COPS EASIER.

THERE IS A MOVEMENT AFOOT IN THE US CONGRESS TO PASS A LAW THAT WOULD MAKE THE CHARGING OF POLICE OFFICERS INVOLVED IN FATAL SHOOTING EASIER.

REP HANK JOHNSON,D-GA, STATED RECENTLY THAT HE IS APPALLED BY THE LACK OF FEDERAL PROSECUTIONS OF POLICE OFFICERS.

A RECENT STUDY REVEALED THAT 96% OF THE CASES INVOLVING POLICE MISCONDUCT IN THE SHOOTING OR WOUNDING OF A SUSPECT WERE NOT PROSECUTED. HUMMM…MAYBE THAT’S BECAUSE THERE IS NO VIOLATION IN THE FIRST PLACE.

JOHNSON’S BILL WOULD WITHHOLD FEDERAL GRANT MONEY IF A SPECIAL PROSECUTOR WAS NOT APPOINTED IN A POLICE SHOOTING CASE. HIS OTHER BILL WOULD MAKE MURDER AND MANSLAUGHTER BY A POLICE OFFICER A FEDERAL CRIME.

APPARENTLY MR. JOHNSON HAS A BIG ASS PROBLEM WITH THE REQUIREMENT THAT A PROSECUTOR MUST SHOW “WILLFUL INTENT” TO CHARGE A POLICE OFFICER.

AS ONE MIGHT EXPECT THE FOP AND, GET THIS, THE ACLU, BOTH FEEL THE BILL IS ANOTHER OVER-REACH OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. LET’S ALL HOPE THIS BILL STAYS BOTTLED UP IN WHATEVER WAY THEY DO THAT KIND OF STUFF. OH, BY THE WAY MR. JOHNSON, HOW ABOUT YOU AND YOUR COLLEAGUES GET OFF YOUR COLLECTIVE BUTTS AND DO SOMETHING TO HELP LAW ENFORCEMENT…NOT AGAINST IT?

STAY SAFE, BUCKLE UP AND WEAR YOUR VEST!!
