DOJ FILES (UN)CIVIL LAWSUIT AGAINST FERGUSON

missouri-state-flagYOU KNEW IT HAD TO HAPPEN. WHEN THE CITY FATHERS OF FERGUSON FINALLY WOKE UP AND REALIZED THAT THE OPPRESSIVE AND OVERREACHING DEMANDS MADE BY THE DOJ WERE GOING TO COST THIS SMALL MUNICIPALITY OVER 3.7 MILLION A YEAR THEY DECIDED TO ATTEMPT TO CHANGE SOME OF THE “BULLET POINTS.”

THE CITY IS CURRENTLY DOING A NUMBER OF THE ITEMS OUTLINED IN THE “AGREEMENT.” THE CITY JUST WANTED TO MAKE IT A LITTLE LESS PAINFUL MONETARILY. KEEP IN MIND FERGUSON IS A TOWN OF ABOUT 20,000 RESIDENTS. AFTER THE MICHAEL BROWN INCIDENT, THE PEACEFUL PROTESTERS BURNED DOWN OR OTHERWISE DESTROYED A NUMBER OF BUSINESSES. REVENUE GENERATING OPERATIONS THAT WILL NEVER REOPEN IN FERGUSON. THIS IS A BIG FINANCIAL BURDEN FOR ANY CITY THIS SIZE TO ADDRESS.

THE MAYOR AND ALDERMEN ATTEMPTED TO NEGOTIATE SEVERAL CHANGES THAT WOULD LESSEN THE FINANCIAL BURDEN. NO DICE, NO DEAL EITHER. THE DOJ STOOD FIRM ON WHAT THEY PERCEIVED AS TRUTH AND JUSTICE. YEAH RIGHT.

THE DOJ IMMEDIATELY FILED SUIT SEEKING TO FORCE THE CITIZENS OF FERGUSON INTO PAYING AN EXORBITANT FEE FOR THE ACTIONS OF SOME OF FERGUSON’S CRIMINAL ELEMENT…NOT THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OR ANY LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES THAT PARTICIPATED IN THE FERGUSON ORDEAL.

BUT THEN THE DOJ HAS UNLIMITED FUNDS AND A HUGE BEVY OF LAWYERS EAGER TO SHRED FERGUSON AND DO AWAY WITH THIS TOWN AND IT’S RICH AND INSPIRING PAST. THE FUTURE THOUGH, NOT SO INSPIRING. MAYBE IT’S TIME TO LET THE CITY WORK OUT IT’S OWN PROBLEMS. THE CITIZENS DESERVE THAT!!
